Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a topographic survey plan and a post-construction survey?
A survey plan is made before design and shows the current situation of the plot. A post-construction survey is made after construction and shows what was actually built — it is required for an occupancy permit.
Who may prepare a survey plan?
A surveyor or surveying company with the relevant licence. LUBA24 chooses a surveyor whose plan the local authority accepts.
Can an old survey plan be updated?
Often yes — if little has changed on the plot, the existing plan can be supplemented, which costs less than a new survey. After reviewing the plan and the local authority's requirements, the project manager will tell you which option is suitable.
